Homily Reflection
In his homily, the School Chaplain Rev Fr. Vincent Wasswa referred to Jesus as the King of Martyrs, citing Luke 23:33-34.
He educated the congregation about the Uganda Martyrs who were burnt in Nakiyanja and today they are with God in Glory. These include: St Matia Mulumba, St Charles Lwanga, St Gyavira,St Andrew Kaggwa to mention but a few. He encouraged students to live as pilgrims on earth, drawing lessons from the Uganda Martyrs to stand firm in faith. He urged the school community to embrace courage, sacrifice, and fidelity to God, so that when the time comes, they too may die in faith.
The school choir animated the liturgy beautifully, with carefully chosen hymns that reflected the courage, faith, and sacrifice of the Uganda Martyrs. Their singing enriched the prayerful mood of the celebration.
The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the Martyrs’ witness and a call for students to live out their faith with conviction in their daily lives.
