*THEME: ACHIEVING SUCCESS TOGETHER*
_General School Parenting Session – Monday, 13th July 2026_
St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School Naggalama held its General School Parenting Session on 13th July, 2026.
The theme for this term is *“Achieving success together: my role in shaping the future of St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama” *.
The sub-theme is *“Being a Good Student” *.
Mother Church founded St. Joseph’s so that every child could rise together. This reminds us that real success in our school is not about individual grades alone. True success happens when *students, teachers, parents and leaders move as one family*. When we win, learn and grow as a team, we are truly living the theme of _”Achieving Success Together”_.
*HOW DO WE LIVE THIS THEME?*
To achieve success together, everyone has a role to play:
1. *Students help each other* by sharing notes, explaining topics, and doing honest group work.
2. *Teachers and students work as one team* by asking questions, accepting correction and meeting deadlines.
3. *Houses compete but also support* by cheering other Houses in sports and music, and by keeping the compound clean for the next House.
4. *Parents are involved* by attending V.D, knowing school rules and supporting their child’s goals.
5. *Leaders serve others* – Prefects, House Captains and teachers lead by example, not by force.
6. *Everyone protects the school name* by wearing uniform well, behaving well in public and speaking positively about St. Joseph’s.
7. *Problems are solved together* by reporting bullying, broken items or struggles early so that help comes fast.
8. *Success is shared* – when one person wins, the whole school wins and we celebrate together.
*THE G.O.O.D – S.T.U.D.E.N.T STUDENT*
A good student’s contribution to shaping the future of St. Joseph’s can be summarized in the acronym *G.O.O.D – S.T.U.D.E.N.T*:
*G – God-fearing:* Respects the school’s foundation and participates in all liturgical activities.
*O – Obedient:* Listens to school rules and guidelines because discipline builds trust.
*O – Organized:* Keeps everything in order. Order in personal things shapes an orderly school.
*D – Diligent:* Works hard, never gives up, and participates actively in class and assignments.
*S – Service-minded:* Prioritizes helping and supporting others so that no one is left behind.
*T – Truthful:* Is honest and trustworthy. No cheating, no lying. Integrity shapes the future.
*U – United:* Works with others as one community with common goals. We succeed as a family, not as individuals.
*D – Disciplined:* Follows school rules and controls emotions to maintain a safe learning environment.
*E – Enthusiastic:* Shows passion and energy in school programs and activities.
*N – Neat:* Maintains a clean body, clean uniform and clean environment.
*T – Teachable:* Is receptive, accepts correction humbly, learns from mistakes and listens to advice.
*DAILY ACTS OF RESPECT*
A good Naggalama student shows respect in small daily actions such as:
Greeting teachers with “Good morning Sir/Madam”, listening without interrupting during lessons, keeping time for all school activities, wearing full school uniform neatly, queuing patiently at the dining and canteen, and cleaning your area.
These simple courtesies build unity. *And unity builds the future of St. Joseph’s Naggalama.*
*Remember: One stick is easy to break, but a bundle is strong.*
Together, we achieve success.
