St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School Naggalama in Uganda has adopted a new curriculum that focuses on 21st-century skills. The new curriculum aims to make learning more inclusive and forward-thinking. The new curriculum focuses on Critical thinking and problem-solving, Creativity and innovation, Effective communication and collaboration, Emotional intelligence and well-being, and Adaptability and resilience.
Implementation
The school began offering the new curriculum when students joined secondary school. The school’s first cohort of students sat for exams under the new curriculum. The school’s teaching and learning is closely monitored to ensure students adhere to the syllabi and complete their work.
Other curriculum updates
The Ministry of Education and Sports introduced a new competence-based curriculum for Lower Secondary. The new pedagogy aims to provide learners with 21st Century skills.
